Now and then, I write lists of shops for San Francisco visitors. Besides my own store, MAC, and Metier, I ALWAYS include Wasteland. Although they always have a promising selection of vintage, over the last year or so they have increased their emphasis on designer clothing. I've encountered Comme Des Garcons, Martin Margiela, Herve Leger, Raf Simons, Yohji Yamamoto...the works!
As with any second hand store, some days you have the luck and others are plain unfruitful. Yesterday, the thrift gods were shining down on me, and I left with the Alexandre Herchovitch black skirt shown below. Perfect. I also bought a chain-mail tank top, but that will be saved for later.
SKIRT! SKIRT! SKIRT!

And as I was writing, these gems appeared at the front door. My first ebay purchase in years...can you guess the brand? No, not opening ceremony. Jeffrey Campbell. $35.
Since my trusted Bottega oxfords are being held hostage in shoe repair (its been over two weeks...could this actually be death row for them??), I've been sentenced to wearing heels daily, which has resulted great legs, but painful steps. I don't want bunions and foot surgery by the time I'm 30. These will be a gentile alternative and an excuse not to get gladiator sandals.
