MY GOAL IN LIFE IS TO FIND THE BOY FROM THAT POSTER

So I've realized that there are many newcomers to Garbage Dress as of recently, as well as the lovely ones who have been with me since very early on. Either way (silver or gold really), I would like to pose a challenge in order for us all to get to know each other a little bit better: Tell me one or two things about yourself (and if you appear by a blogger moniker, can you include your name?) and then ask me a question. I know there are mysteries that you are dying to have solved. Pretend its the first day of school, but more scandalous.

1)I've started a blog but find it hard to update as much as other people, this makes me sad. Also I doubt I'm that interesting.

2) I love my glasses. And hate it when people suggest laser eye surgery! no!!!

Question for you: How do you keep your blog fresh? Are pictures important?

2.0 // Jealous of people with eye problems because I love sun & eye glasses and can't wear the latter.

3.0 // Assuming you are a similarly budget-conscious young person, where do you draw the line between mindless consumption and splurging on a piece you simple MUST own?

I'm 20-years-old, I am the news editor for the student newspaper at the University of Cincinnati, The News Record. I also write a weekly fashion column - this blog was inspired by the column. I scored a summer internship last summer writing a monthly fashion column for an Auburn, Ala.-based magazine, Lee Magazine.

Random:

I, ever so wisely, gave myself a paper cut on my eye once.

One of my friends has the ugliest boots I have EVER seen and I feel bad telling her; they are her favorite.

Question:

What is the most awkward situation you have ever been in?

I play a lot of late 80s/early 90s pop songs on the ukulele for giggles but I can pnly do so in character.

My mother forbid me from going on a trip to San Francisco when I was fifteen because she said, "You'll never come back." I've been to CA before but still have yet to make it to San Fran.

You show off a lot of best-dressed friends but what about those worst-dressed friends who still make it look best?

*I started my blog because I really don't like it here in Vancouver...there is no fashion culture! So now I feed my fashion craving via the blogging world instead!

and my question to you...

I see you are going to Berlin? Is it to live, holiday or Study?
and I see you are a fine arts student...what is your major? Is it fashion?

ooops, two questions. I couldn't help myself!

My question to you is:

Would you wear something made from glue and a trash bag out in public? Let's pretend it's marvelous.

Q: What is your favorite thing (or things) about san francisco? Are you only living there because you go to school there? Were you born there? Will you stay there once you are finished with school?

(My question has many parts. I apologize [haha]... I am looking to transfer up to the San Francisco FIDM next year and want to hear about the city from someone as interested in style as I am.)

My name is Michelle and I have a blog at http://www.declinedesigns.net/blog . :) Two things about me, I have been a vegetarian since sixth grade (so long now!!) and I went to fashion school for a semester but hated it because none of the teachers wanted anything to do with me due to my purple and green mohawk.

Question for you - this is super boring, but what if any products do you use on your hair? it is so gorgeous!!

My question for you- if you could have any designer make a custom dress for you who would it be?

Marina said...

hey!
a) I think this is a good idea. And it's not related to me, except that is is my opinion - but I thought your installations looked really cool. At least, their photos did.
b) I watch too much television. Unfortunately most of it is really bad, disposable television.
c) I've recently slipped back into wearing a lot of black, white and grey.

I know you like no wave via reading your archives. What kind of music would you reccomend and where would you take me (anywhere in the world) if I were to walk up to you and ask you to take me on a "no wave trip".

I'm from southern california, currently a business economic major @ uci, yet trying to make my way into the fashion industry (business-side). i recently got a call back from the pr dept. at versace for an internship in nyc, but had to turn it down due to school being in cali.

I have a few questions if you don't mind asking.
What is the most valuable piece in your wardrobe? Describe please.
Why is it significant to you?

I don't have a blog but will likely start posting fliers at school about my daily goings on under the moniker "undistinguished visiting artist series." I have been accused of never leaving the house without a collard shirt.

I will miss you when you move but I am happy for you because all the beautiful people move to Berlin or New York after school. Given this, when can we have a dinner party?

I'm a new fan of your blog, but I love you over at newestwrinkle.

So my question to you is, what is the best thing about living there! And have you always lived there, or did you move?

Ah! I totally was going to post a comment here but now I see you've answered questions already! Still want to say hello and introduce myself... I'm Sandy, trying to go by WPZ on the net so that just maybe I won't be easily traced by certain undesirable past elements. I lived in SF for about 6ish years, went to AAU for fashion design but didn't finish unfortunately, but I am planning on continuing working on sewing/tailoring all my life. I'm kind of sad you're going away already because I'd love to meet you in SF someday! But it does seem so exciting that you're GOING FOR IT, in terms of doing the whole ex-pat thing. I hope the djinni grants all your wishes!

Question I would have wanted to ask you would probably be something like 'could I be your intern in hard-core-amazing-shop-buyer-dom?'

Hi my name is danielle, and I go to school in a small mountain town in Idaho. Blogs are what keep me sane, and I adore yours. I love biking and baking and journaling.

Your style is so wonderful, but I was wondering if you ever just grunge out or dress down. Do you ever lounge around your house in Target shorts, or do you just always look glorious?

Hello,

I've just rediscovered your blog after first hearing about it when you posted the link on hf or something a while ago. I love your style. It's so suited for Berlin.

Question: How are you going to go about living there coming April? Do you have a visa? I'm only asking because I am an American that's currently living in Paris as an au pair, but I love it so much that I want, with all my heart, to stay. The visa process, however, is very very painful.
