CALM BEFORE THE STORM(S)

(dress - united bamboo / scarf - marc jacobs / coat - k-2 / boots - jeffrey campbell)

THE WEATHER REPORT SAYS RAIN ALL WEEKEND

The combination of the Arts Of Fashion events and the freshly rotten weather here made it nearly impossible for me to get up out of my bed this morning to make it to class at 9am. Afterwards, I paid Zach a visit at work and then jumped on the quickest bus home and ran into my house and haven't left my bed for the rest of the day. I even ordered delivery Thai!

As with every other week in October, this one has flown by at turbo-jet speed, and I'm left without accomplishing any sort of school related work. I'm thinking about Berlin (and how to learn German in 6 months), I'm thinking about Halloween (and masks!!!), I'm thinking about my cold floors (and reattaching velvet curtains). I'm scared that November's almost here because that means I have less than two months before I graduate. Fear/excitement!

MORE PARTY PEOPLE FROM TUESDAY NIGHT

I WANT TO BE IN WITH THE IN CROWD

Lionel Vandenbem & Natalia Brilli

From right-left, Laurent Edmond, Lionel Vandembem, Natalia Brilli, and Tony Delcampe... totally not being judgmental...

Part of last night's events featured a show of the work made from last week's masterclasses. I was blown away by the work that was made from ONLY FOUR CLASSES! I was being a creep and waiting for Natalia to come out later so I could snap her pic, because I think she's an incredible artist and seems like such a cool girl. So here goes, the work!

KNIT EXPLOSION

Last night was the Arts Of Fashion show & awards. The way the night worked was first there were presentations by a few semi-known designers (details later), then presentations of the work generated by the masterclasses that occurred throughout the week, and then the presentations of the student work that was to be judged for truly amazing internship prizes.

I have a lot to write about this and way too many pictures, so I'll begin with what I wore:

My mom knit that. And speaking of oversized knits, Sandra Backlund was one of the masterclass teachers & honored guests. Her class created two group projects, one black and one white (click for larger):
