YIN & YANG

Rain Walk
Kirsten came over to watch the Oscars. Afterwards we entertained the weather and went on a walk. We started off going through Chinatown, which was very quiet although many businesses were still open. I've been enjoying taking night-shots around the city lately.

Kept walking, arrived downtown - greeted by steam in the street. Neither Kirsten nor I can resist dramatic backdrops. We also passed by the new American Apparel that is open downtown...that makes 3 total, with a proposed location in the Mission which was halted due to residents protesting.

After walking through Union Square, I remembered that one of the hotels had a glass elevator that you could ride up to the 30the floor & have an open view the entire time. So we went hotel hunting and ended up at the Westin St. Francis, which provided not only the breathtaking cityscape (and subsequent vertigo and thoughts of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory), but an adventure...a luxe labyrinth.

By the way, this is my new Ann Sofie Back faux leather jacket. It has exaggerated shoulder pads and elbow pads (runway shot here). I am also wearing a shirt & scarf by Stephan Schneider and Frye boots.

I love how you made SF look like fucking Blade Runner. Amazing! We have to get some food when I'm back in the Bay.

the mission-ites protested, as a result, american apparel was prevented from opening their store there...twas big news a couple weeks back.

The pictures are great!
The view from the elevator is breathtaking, but a bit scary because of the height.

ooh ooh
is that the elevator
that goes up 30 something floors
and you can see the macy's ads right across from you? and you fall really suddenly and you think you're going to hit the ground (there's a kind of courtyard space) but you DON'T? it's like going to an amusement park without paying the money.
