PROBLEM SOLVING

(As a side note, I've never been much of one to dress in a single uniform daily, but what you see above is the closest and the most desirable for me as it gets - Jil Sander Shoes, AA shiny leggings, Harputs OWN 3-hole dress & skinny belt, and assorted bangles)
Compromising Spaces to Bedroom Installations
When I was packing for Berlin, I really brought almost everything that I find crucial to my day-to-day existence - and one thing that I left behind was my rolling clothing rack. I knew that my apartment had a closet, but what I wasn't expecting was about 1 foot of "closet" space tucked inside of a tall wardrobe; a perfectly nice use of space, but completely impractical for my volume of clothing, especially since I prefer to display everything on hangers instead of folded.

Today I biked to IKEA (from to Pberg to Tempelhof - pretty badass for my 1st real day on a bike!) and bought pillows, a blanket, and hangers. I attempted to buy a rolling rack, but for some reason they were out of stock even though they had a perfectly nice floor sample. Instead of squishing my beloved dresses back into a cramped pile, I looked around to gauge what I had at my fingertips - and found the white rope that I used to tie my IKEA goodies to my bike. I braided the strands and looped them over a couple of nails that were already in the wall and - TA DAHHH!

PS - A note to German Anonymous who wanted to meet at a cafe - I came home too late to get your message. Perhaps next time.

very well done!
looks like a fantastic living space, nonetheless.

hmm maybe you should just ditch the rolling closet all together

What an amazing yet simple job. Turned out quite beautiful.

I love the idea of hanging clothing on the wall like a piece of art. I've often hung new dresses or tops from a nail in my room just to look at them for a few days.

It looks so amazing! I love how it looks like a display for art or something !

fantastic idea. only a perfectly edited wardrobe could manage to be hung that way.

dope.

Hey, cool idea!! I wanted to do something like that but with weird hardware instead, but haven't found the hardware that I have in my brain.. Speaking of brain, I am lacking one today, what exactly are you doing in Berlin again? I feel like I read it but I don't remember! Good luck on this new adventure, you seem very happy about it!

A much better solution for hanging and displaying your clothes anyway, if you ask me! Oh, and I met your friend Houman at one of my parties a few days ago!

That looks amazing. I just got a rolling rack myself and I love having my clothes out on display. Feels like a shop. Your idea would maybe work well in a shop too.

Anyway I think you need to check out this Young Australian Designer called Alicia Gramsbergen. You will love her stuff. She doesn't have a website so you can see her lookbook here http://www.melbournestreetfashion.com/content/view/110/ and I recently used one of her pieces in a shoot on page 28 of http://www.pockettozine.com/.

hey zana do you ever wear pants/trousers/jeans?

i just noticed that you dont have any pants in your wardrobe and from what i remember we usually see you in stockings/tights in place of pants. just wondering if you ever wear/own pants/trousers/jeans instead?

How innovative of you! And props to riding a bike all the way to IKEA...I don't know how it is in Germany, but where I am in Italy it is IMPOSSIBLE to ride more than 2 inches before someone walks out in front of you.
