TODAY HAS BEEN LIKE TWITTER WITH PICTURES. SORRY GUYS.

Also sorry about that death stare...
Today was a test of quick thinking when faced with curveballs. The saga of the "voltage-converter" continued when I was about to sew the first stitch in a new project, and realized that when I pressed down on the pedal nothing happened. At first I thought that the machine was fried, but turns out the converter doesn't work anymore. In two minutes, my entire day's plans vanished!

So I figured that I couldn't get TOO upset, and decided to get falafel and go to the Hamburger Banhof museum, since I haden't been since my first time in Berlin over the summertime. Midway through falafel, it started to lightly rain so afterwards I headed back to my apartment to grab a scarf and ended up changing my shirt and lightening up my lipstick - very important.

I was greeted by a massive sound installation by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller called "The Murder of Crows"

"With "The Murder of Crows", their largest sound installation to date, the Canadian visual artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller continue the explorations they embarked on in the mid-1990s into the sculptural and physical attributes of sound."

While I don't know if the sounds emitted really investigated the "sculptural and physical attributes of sound", the way the sounds bounced and danced from the 98 speakers - the physicality of the movement of the sounds. Not to mention the set up of the hanger-like space was breathtaking. It was almost like a still from an explosion of speakers...but much calmer. Extremely minimal, slightly cyborg - an attackforce of mini-monolithic speakers. The program itself was 30 minutes long, but I wish it had been longer.

I live here.
