The men of the man formerly known as Martin Margiela
These days, its pretty difficult to have any sort of expectation when it comes to the beloved brand of Maison Martin Margiela. For Spring 2010, I found two definite points of interest; the removal of troublesome details (waistbands, collars, fabric), and the addition of understated optimistic whimsy. A motif of florals ran through the pieces, but they were worked in subtly. Flower reliefs pressed into dress shoes, embroidered into a cotton shirt, stitched out of chain (my favorite!!) onto a leather vest, cut out of a trench coat to reveal a floral lining...I was pleased.

Oh... this is gorgeous. Perfect. This is the first men's MMM collection I'm totally satisfied with. Wow...
LOVE the embellished vest!
Hmm, I quite like the idea of men in subtle florals.
beautiful beautiful men! love those soft delicate knits with a bit of chest hair poking through..
I could just sit here for hours staring at the beautiful, well constructed and tailoring of the vests, jackets and coats. The floral I wasn't too crazy but it did change my mind and it does look flawless, (no pun intended)
