TIM HAMILTON, TAKE MY BREATH AWAY

The coolest kids, no doubt
Although I've been extremely tempted throughout the season, I have refrained from posting traditional runway photos, as many already do and I don't want to bore you guys to death with visual repetition. HOWEVER! I stopped dead in my tracks when I flipped through the Spring/Summer 2010 collection by Tim Hamilton. I was completely caught of guard, and instantly felt a sort of longing for the lifestyle portrayed in the collection. Although technically complex, there is an air of ease within the pieces - the looks seem natural, wearable...well, at least for me (I know that Camille agrees though). The simplicity and edited extremities are something that I aspire to, and of course I adore a monochromatic look from head-to-toe.

What now?
So I haven't had the time to work on emulating any of the collection's looks (soon, soon) but I did take some direct action and buy some black lipstick. After purchasing the YSL black gloss last year and being extremely disappointed in its texture and lasting ability, I'd been reluctant to revisit inky lips, but the show's styling inspired me once more. One quick run down St. Mark's place later, and I am now the proud owner of a tube of Manic Panic lipstick in "raven". Who wants to dare me to wear this in the daytime?

I like that you're critical with which fashion shows to show - in stead of posting what everyones else does. Anyway your outfits are always wicked - stunning inspiration for outfits, you always make it work.

I'd like a black lipstick again, just to blend in with a very dark red so the shade is ambivalent.

By the way, your hair is amazing.

I believe MAC has come out with an all-black collection of makeup (including lipstick) and I have heard that it works pretty well.

Just a tip! :]

That shade is actually fantastic -- you've got me wanting to go out and try some...

I love black lipstick but for me it's impossible to keep it from feathering and bleeding out, I've tried all the tricks, non-feathering/non-bleeding lip liners, putting foundation on my lips, you name it. I still wear black often but I end up looking like a fool by the end of the night.

Very wearable indeed, that last white dress is the kind of garment you want to live in.

Mac has a glimmerglass in blackware. It's so much better than the YSL and the Kat Von D one. I think you should try it out! They also have a whole black collection, like someone else already mentioned!

-side note, I think you'd look so good with pumpkin orange lips. Just putting that out there.

chanel les noirs. there's three of them. i bought the one i thought was most wearable: maniac. the blue one makes ur teeth look yellow and the last one, obscure, i think it's too brown... i remember being 15 and loving the cure and getting myself black lips by using an eye liner...:)

Wasn't a fan of Hamilton, seemed a bit sloppy and didn't play to his strengths, or rather show any of them. Clearly Encens magazine has been an influence on him, perhaps so much that it came off as derivative. Wonder if Drira styled it? But you know, we have Haider, Matthew, and Damir, not sure if we need this.
