SHE'S IN PARTIES

The perks of travel
One thing that I love about New York is that its such a central destination point. Example: Domonique went back to San Francisco this morning, but last night two of my dear friends from Vienna came into town!! Of course, I had to have all of my children together at the same time. A beautiful thing happened - we had a faaahhhbbbuuuuulllllous time.

6 PIECES FOR $75

Let me preface myself
After my recent investment into the realm of Rick Owens, it might seem contradictory to still be purchasing, but hold off your judgments for one teeny tiny second - The collective price of all six items below (purchased at Beacon's Closet) was 75 dollars - a deal you couldn't even accomplish at Forever 21. Also, I swear I took photos smiling but those just didn't look nice, and I TRIED to find clothes in color I simply couldn't come up with anything promising. So without further introduction...

1. Oversized semi-sheer ruffled blouse with tiny gold buttons. Great quality fabric. I used to have a lot of stuff like this a couple of years ago, but most were form-fitting and made of polyester. This is kind of a like referencing old Zana with an updated quality level.

2. This little diddy is a perfect basic, and originally from...H&M! Shh, don't tell anyone. I was having a recent conversation about basics - how they're kind of the last thing that I want to spend money on, but they're the pieces that I end up wearing the most.

3. This dress really deserves its own post, so for right now you only get to see the top. Its 100% EVIL. Bodycon cutout sculptural amazingness. Evil evil evil!!!!

4. I was looking for the perfect gym shirt. I found it.

5. My dear friend who works at Beacon's had set this aside for me when it came in, and although I was wary of the description of "lots of gold studs", I'm totally enamoured with it. Its just gaudy enough without being offensive. Plus I've been yearning for a blazer after my old trustworthy one mysteriously disappeared some time ago.

6. These were the last thing that I stopped and without even trying them on I knew that they had to come back with me. I'm am an obsessive collector of black sequined items (currently own black sequined; tank, hotpants, shorts, sweater), so trousers were part of the natrual progession. I love these. When I talk about personal 'future classics', this is exactly what I mean! Take the basic cuffed pant, and just make it sequined. Done. I'll be doing some surgery on these to add pockets, but other than that they're basically perfect.
