Process Piece

I've been preparing to make "bootstraps" for a couple of weeks now. Adding on to one's current shoes without permanent implications is right in the trajectory of my accessory thoughts. Every piece takes multiple attempts and reattempts before it reaches its finalized state. This is phase one; stay tuned.

Old, New and Borrowed

This next week is going to consist of a lot of clothing and accessories that I haven't seen in over 7 months. Meaning that I hauled a human-sized duffle bag back with me from San Francisco, filled with all sorts of things to recontextualize into my current wardrobe! The item of choice for this particular post is a pair of leggings that I chopped into and customized years ago to have a line of fringe going down the back seam. I thought they were particuarly interesting paired with my studded dress and Rick Owens boots because both of them have very strong, straight lines - and something really nice happens when the fringe falls onto the "tail" of the boot. The derby hat belongs to my roommate.

The Art of Evolution

Apart from seeing my family & friends, my most anticipated moment after arrival was to visit the reincarnation of Harputs Market, Harputs Union. Formerly located on Fillmore st (where I worked for almost three years), it is now properly placed downtown at 140 Geary St. The new location specifically highlights the shop's line, Harputs Own, which is conceptualized and produced by the Harputs team locally in San Francisco. The collection is based upon versatility and functionality, with a focus on minimal detailing for the maximum options for wear. Each piece is carefully examined and experimented upon in a plethora of lengths, fabrics, and colors, which means more often or not the clothing is truly one-of-a-kind.

Aside from Harputs Own, the shop carries Y-3, Pleasure Principle, Martha Davis, Comme des Garcons, and Jan Warnock.
