(Scarf - Stephan Schneider / Dress - Marni / Belt - Zana Bayne / Leggings - Martin Margiela / Boots - Vintage)
In an attempt to expand to an inverted color palate, I have decided to temporarily invert my mostly-black ensembles to create a look with a similarly layered effect, using only (or mostly) light neutrals. I'm curious to see whether and how it is possible to maintain the aura created by wearing dark colors from head to toe when dressing of sand & skin..

This Marni dress is amazing! It's nice to see you in light colors for a change.
So flattering with your skin tone and hair color! I have the same Marni dress!
i seriously love the way you style. it amazes me every time i visit your page.
Mixing and layering neutrals is a great look and you really pull it off. Very nice variation from the all-black ensembles.
I dig it!
i've found myself straying away from the usual all black and been really into neutrals as well. this is so inspiring, absolutely perfect! i have been lusting after those leggings, and if i get my way i'm going to buy one of your belts soon! so good lady!

Ooooooh, I wish you would wear this kind of color scheme more often!
The neutrals look great with your hair and skintone. Having the black accents with the belt and boots really make the outfit tie in with your black hair and facial features which are very striking.
popping out of the woodworks after stalking your blog for so very, very long to say--
i've been attempting nude/neutral combos as well. but the only neutral coloured item i own is just that, a singular item. lol. i love your outfits. this just goes to show that the dark/edgy aura created by all black/darker colours need not be limited to just that palette. ;) the pops of black are very sweet though.
as always, an enjoyable read and even more enjoyable photos. <3
I think I have two nude colored clothing articles...one's a safari style shirt and the other is a dress. :/ Can't do it, captain!
I love the look! Mellow, fresh, tasty. ( Me-ow... I adore the scarf, belt, leggings...uhggggggg everything!)You look great Zana.
The lighter palette really suits your skin tone and looks great in that light, perfect for summer! I'm trying to follow suit too but it's resulted in swapping black for grey, not too good...

Nothing changed, you still look great!!
You look great!!! I think the color tone is very flattering on you, it really warms your complexion (I'm rather pale, so this outfit excites me and has inspired me to wear nudes!!) and the style of the dress is offset perfectly by the vintage boots. I do feel that the boots and the belt really complete the outfit. Maybe this is because I am obsessed with leather haha. speaking of which, you must check out Norisol Ferrari's line of coats. Amazing leather and truly cutting-edge pieces. I know they'd look killer on you!
agreeing with everyone else, this departure from black is so gorgeous on you. That dress is beautiful.
i quite like you in those nude tones... they're lovely!
Its different from your usual black but its still reads Zana. I like it a lot.
I'd say that in a battle of Presence vs Absence, second one is a winner. Lack of black is even more striking than black just being there, as usual, and play with proportions and volumes is more convincing as they look like skin extension. That's why your MMM bra top never fails to surprise.
my best friend ALWAYS wears layers of beige upon beige and ive always admired how it looks so striking yet so calming. you look great in these colours also -i think it takes a strong character to pull it off x
perfect.
it looks great, still brings out your amazing blue eyes!
xo
Well well well, fall 2010 is all about camels and nudes!
i love all the neutrals, great outfit!
