Reading With Zana 13: Encens 18 - Ann Demeulemeester
This edition of Reading With Zana is a special treat for me. One of my incredible and generous readers tipped me off that a local bookstore where she lived had a couple of older issues of Encens Magazine, so we worked out a trade and...they arrived in the mail today! For those who don't know, it is hard to find back issues of Encens, and virtually impossible to find issues older that #20. This particular issue (no. 18) is from the season of FW06, and although the featured designer is Ann Demulemeester, I found several shots of that season's Balenciaga and was reminded of how much I adored the elongated riding hats and sculptural umbrella skirts (not to mention the original, non Sam Edelmen power wedges). I haven't even gotten into reading, or picking up the fine details but from the first few scans over it is exquisite. I encourage you to click the images to see the pages larger!
