PAPER MAG: 37 NETWORKERS

Its always hard for me not to gush about exciting projects, so when I was approached by Paper Magazine about being involved in a group shoot, it took all of my self control not to share it all here! But now that the issue is out, I thought it might be nice to share what I find a pretty great group of people. The unifying factor between all of us is we heavily use social media to support our lifestyles - designers, bloggers, promoters, art directors etc etc. The theme was to show us on our respective mobile devices not interacting with each other (although we get real close & cuddly on the last page - you'll have to get the magazine to see that though).

There were 4 stylists involved to deal with all of us, and much to my relief their vision was not to transform us into someone different, but simply create an "amped up" version of how we already look. My stylist Timothy Reukauf (aka my style savior) and I emailed a bit prior to the shoot to discuss my favorite designers, styles, etc and although I knew that he is quite accomplished in what he does, I still came to the shoot with a bit of anxiety - what is he going to put me in? Is he going to find something that fits? Will we find something amazing or will I have to settle?

I really don't know why I was worrying, because right as I walked up to Timothy's styling station, he gracefully procured a matching set of Martin Margiela perforated leather mesh thigh high boots and shoulder-padded jacket - in black, of course. There was no need to exhaust any other options.

This is dope. 'Nice work!' to Paper for the concept, too.

That jacket is crazy. Totally you.

What a cool shoot to be involved in. You were styled perfectly. It's a shame we don't get Paper here in Dublin or I'd buy it.

congratulations! and how odd is it that we all have to be so anti-social, plugged into our devices, in order to be social these days? gotta love the net generation!

This looks great! Sure it was pretty funny. I am worried about the (un)socializing aspect of blogging too, sometimes...

This is awesome! I want this issue now, and I wasn't really familiar with this. I love the styling too, I feel like this is the future of fashion, and also really NOW. Seems like style is taking a good turn for sure!

Dang Zana just saw your link from Style.com. I'm super happy for you. Seems like only yesterday I was helping you pick out fabrics at Britex. I always knew you were destined for greatness.
