Having only seen his prior collection in photos, I was not prepared for the amount of thoughtfulness and precision shown in person. There is a certain softness present in many of his pieces, yet they continue to maintain their masculinity. The fabrics he used echoed his sentiment towards transformations found in nature; an impeccable fish skin leather jacket, distressed dyed linens, silk treated in a way to resemble jellyfish. Two jackets were shown, and then unsnapped & rezipped to turn into full body jumpsuits. All together, there were an aggressive 24 looks.
I plan on harassing Asher until he lets me visit his studio (I joke, we've discussed & agreed this before), so that I can accurately portray his talent and the beauty in his works. I can see big things coming for this one, just you wait & see.

zana you go to THE BEST shows :)
Those exaggerated shoes are key. I'm in love the with ivory leather jacket...
i cant really find any originilty in this collection (we all know who he is copying here, I assume)... i really think those young designers lack in experience and imagination to express a personal view on clothing in a personal and conceptual way... if that is not what they aim for, fine. but that doesnt make them talents we all have to look out for imo.
I can't wait to see more...
nicolas - I would have to disagree with you. Although traces of Rick Owens are certainly present (the shoes bring an unavoidable reference, as do tight knits on the male form), I would argue that much of the collection comes from a more organic place. Again, the treatment of the materials and the fluid movement brought the clothing to a different place entirely. I will happily post Asher's official photos once they have been released, I think that will translate much better than my snapshots.
lusting this look! the fringe, and the feather like wings looks so great!

asher is soooo handsome!
I like it, I see a willful & considered insecurity in these pieces which I find completely comforting/fascinating/relatable.
I loved the clothes but I even loved the guys a little more. They were absolutely handsome!
Fantastic show! I loved it all. And I agree with Alex from above - those guys.. yummy!
