Fashion is making me very happy today! I guess Paris fashion week has a tendency to do that, and my usual suspect favorites (Givenchy, Haider, Comme...) haven't even shown yet! I might even be tempted to do a *gasp* runway review of the season. For now I've assembled my top moments of fashion so far, hope you guys enjoy:

1. Maison Martin Margiela
- What can I say, I'm infinitely attracted to shapes in replacement of clothing, and a complete magpie for shiny black. And there's actually something really fetishy about this one, as opposed to the other square-iforms, because of its shrink wrapped treatment. If this comes in a ready to wear version, I must own it.

2. Bottega Veneta
- Is it just me, or has Bottega been looking pretty evil lately? The leather detailing for the past 2 seasons has been absolutely spot on, and the minimalist crocodile bandeau in the SS collection blew my mind. I love it when something as evocative/provocative as a skin can be used in such a casual and tasteful way!

3. Yohji Yamamoto
- I can't get over how major this is as a first look. I can't remember the last time when I perceived a Yohji collection as...sexy? Can those two things function in the same sentence? Am I getting a little bit of Siouxie as well?

4. Lanvin
- Yes, we all know that Lanvin is divine. Yes, the entire collection was brilliance - however these two looks are much more personal to me. The first defines exactly how I would love to be dressing these days; clothing that is comfortable and easily moves with the body, but also maintains allure (those slits!), coupled with a ferocious shoe. The second look had me laughing by myself, because of THE HARNESS! Even Alber is getting leather-fever. I have a hide of that exact color of honey-brown, if anyone is interested by the way...

5. AF Vandevorst
- I'll probably be recapping this collection at a later date, since by the end of the show I found myself forgetting to breathe. Emerging from two incredibly strong seasons, AF's looks for spring moved past any sort of quirk or obscurity and entered into a realm of stunning.

6. Ann Demeulemeester
- While the collection didn't completely move me, the footwear did. Every proportion on this boot is perfect, (lack of) color as well. Although styled on the runway with matching all-white looks, I would opt to wear them with head to toe black. I find there is something incredibly striking about an all black ensemble with a white shoe, or all white with a black shoe - I first became interested in this after seeing Julius SS10 in Paris. I'm not much of one to plan my purchases a season in advance, but these might very well change that...

So far, Paris Fashion Week is so good. I am particularly moved my Ann Demeulemeester and of course, Yohji Yamamoto. I'm still deciding about my favorite label, Maison Martin Margiela.

On your "AN OPEN LETTER TO JEREMY SCOTT" post I saw one of the most sexy in a weird way shoes, do you happen to know who makes them?
thank you.
CA grafico - I think you've answered your own question. I would presume they are by Jeremy Scott.
Really? I can't find anything about them anywhere!
I guess i'll keep looking. Thank you :)
maison martin margiela jacket is so cool!

OMG! The Ann boot was made for me!!! And the Yohji look! Perfection!!! Thanks for doing the field work!
i would love a honey colored harness by garbage dress! emailed you via etsy. have a super weekend :-))
Oh yes, Lanvin is indeed pure brilliance. Alber’s use of that leather harness is dually noted ;)
But I really seem to be unable to take my eyes off of AF’s white leggings/pants/boots full of strappy, leather magnificence. Love.
The Yohji look is killer. Thanks for putting together this lil view into the goings-on. I'm finally feeling inspired to peruse the style.com.
Nice list!
And what abaout the lipstick on the Yohji model?!?!?!?!?
