RAD BY RAD HOURAN SS12

Every season, I have high standards and high hopes for what will come down the runway for the RAD by RAD HOURANI show. And this time, I was thrilled with what was presented! Within the signature geometric rigidity was a great degree of play - architectural folds, mysterious zippers that seemed to anchor structure, shades of muted indigo, square bags & clutches...but really the most beautiful elements of all were the backs of the garments. I had some difficulty capturing these details, as the show was quite intimate and as quickly as the model passed by, they were already around a corner. But the backs!! Deep lines, rectangles, large squares, trapezoids, layers, folds & boxes. All done with a perfectly restrained hand, adhering to and amplifying the strong aesthetic that Rad Hourani is so loved for.

Great post!

Love the look of those pieces. I'm always a fan of a bit of structure and harsh lines.

Hello. Would you like to tell about me in your blog? It would be incredibly nice. Me and a friend have a contest to see who can get on top of the list of blogs where we blog. I hate to ask about this stuff but it would be nice. hugs

Odd geometrical garments, unexpected cut outs, you need an unusual eye and an understanding of all things aesthetic in order to appreciate this.
Absolutely divine.

What a great collection. I love the cut outs in the back, I've seen a few collections with similar cut outs lately. I'm not sure if it's becoming a trend, but layered on top of other clothes, I think it looks nice.
