LADYFAG PRESENTS: POP SOUK PARADISE

Yesterday marked the first of what I hope will become a bi-annual tradition in New York - Pop Souk "where downtown folk sell, not sell out." The brainchild of New York icon LadyFag, Pop Souk is kind of like an elevated swap meet pumped up on glitter steroids & drunk from champagne. The idea is simple and brilliant - create an arena for creative industry types to sell whatever they feel like, from their own product samples, discarded wardrobe pieces, even manicures. The vendors themselves were quite the curated bunch, ranging from designers to DJ's, stylists, etc. Not only was the atmosphere inspirational, but so was the crowd that showed up, dressed their best for a fully daytime affair. Its events like this that truly promote comradery and collaboration within New York, showing that new ideas are not only necessary, but can be incredibly successful as well.

Above: Ladyfag in all of her turban'd glory wearing my Gemini Harness in red, with one of my favorite humans - Cameron Cooper

My witchy sister and queen of gowns, Domonique Echeverria

Photographer Jason Roders & all around talented lady Ms Fitz

Incredible designer & lover of strange textiles Asher Levine in the blacklight cave that he created

King of jewelry Chris Habana took a break from his booth & came to visit Asher's cave with me, and we were delighted to realize that his neon green hair lit up instantly! I ended up buying a shark's jaw (photos later) from Chris...

My fellow bondage warrior (ok well she's less inherently S&M) Becca McCharen with signature pieces from her collection Chromat

Paul Cupo was about to sell his Bernhard Willhelm sunglasses, but changed his mind once he found the perfect matching jacket a few booths down

Bumped into Rachel Singer- stylist, nightlife persona, and all around ray of sunshine

I always love seeing Christina (Arms and Armory) and Tiffany (Triskaidekaphobia)

So much love for Michael Magnan
